Hungary just won the swimming discipline in the Women’s Relay over a fast finishing French team. This moves them up to 3rd after their 4th position in the fencing behind France and the Russian team who easily lead the event after their strong fencing display combined with their 5th place in the swimming event.
The French team gained one position moving up to second place after the close finish with Hungary. French coach Christian Roudaut does not want to speak to soon about a second Women's Team Gold medal at this year's World Championships.
"Please don't ask me about a medal today, I would not like to say. Fencing was good. Hungary just beat us on the swim, but we are happy. The horses are very important and will make all the difference, but we still have the very long combined event with 6000 metres to run and of course the shooting. Fatigue will definitely be a factor for all the girls today."

Great Britain has won the swimming event in a scorching time beating Japan and China. This moves Great Britain into 2nd position overall behind the winners of the fencing Lithuania who had a dissapointing swim and finished back in 7th position.
Nick Woodbridge (GBR) stated that the Great Britain team would not be resting on their laurels "We are all pretty confident strong riders, but we are still weary going into the ride as it can depend upon the horse that you get. We're happy with the swim, but it will come down to the combined event. We struggle a bit with our shooting and you can lose a lot of seconds on just one shot."
The powerful Russian team sit in 3rd position finishing back in 6th position in the swim. The biggest shock so faqr in the poor position of the Czech Republic which includes David Svoboda and Ondej Polivka. They are stuggling back in 8th position and have alot of work to do if they want to finish on the podium.
