Hi Guys,

First of all I would like to give a BIG congratulations to my team mates and countrymen Sarolta Kovacs and Bence Demeter who both won the gold medal at the Junior World Championships in Hungary. I was lucky enough to be there to see these amazing performances which exceeded everybody’s expectation.

As for myself I am back in a training camp in Tata where I have been here 6 weeks already this Summer! I am getting myself ready for the World Championships in Chengdu, China. My main focus has been my Combined Event as this is what let me down in the European Championships. I have been doing weekly 2-3 shooting practices, 2 running and 2 combined. I believe it is important to practice them all separately sometimes and not just do combined training as this is simply not enough! This is all very very hard work for me as running and shooting does not come as natural to me as swimming. I have never felt so much pain swimming as I do running.

In the summer I usually train 4-5 hours a day with 2 days off, it is very important to get the balance correct between training and rest otherwise you will burn yourself out. My training is not as intense as it was in May because it is getting towards the end of the season and I have to keep myself focused and fresh.

This last week I have been lucky and have only had a few media and sponsorship commitments which has allowed me to take a bit more rest and relaxation time. My highlight of the week was attending my parent’s 40th wedding anniversary. This was such a fantastic experience and is incredible nowadays. They celebrated in the church that they got married in 40 years before, it was so much fun.

I am very excited about the World Championships. I have watched the promo video on pentathlon.org and the facilities look absolutely amazing. I have learnt from my time in the Beijing Olympics that impossible in nothing for the Chinese people. I hope that in Hungary there will be similar things in the future.

Ok, I am back off to training.

Leila xoxo

Hi Guys,

Sorry, I have not written for awhile, but I have been busy training and then competing at the European Championships.

Last time I wrote, I was in a National Training camp in Tata. This was fantastic for me, I got so strong and fit leading into the European Championships. A competition that means so much to me, especially since it was in my home country.

Hi Guys,

The last 2 weeks were very tough for training wise. I sat out of World Cup #5 due to I had already qualified for the World Cup Final and so I could just focus on my training. We developed my basic endurance and also improved my pace. So it was alot of training sessions but I enjoyed it! Especially last week because the weather was hot which I loved! This is my perfect weather, more than 30 degrees! :-)
